4 Minivans with Collision Warning

Collision warnings can keep you from getting in a car accident by alerting you when you get too close to a slow-moving or stopped vehicle in front of you. This feature is a great thing to have in your minivan to keep you and your children safe. Very few mini-vans actually have collision warning, but here are four that can keep you safe and secure no matter where you’re driving.

2017 Kia Sedona LX

The Kia Sedona has long been one of the top minivans on the market and this year’s model is a top safety pick with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It provides comfort and power to get you up a mountain, or just to the nearest store. Along with collision warnings, it also has rollover mitigation, vehicle stability management at higher trim levels, and electronic stability control. Some of the electronic features in the Sedona are 12-volt power outlets, Bluetooth connectivity, rear-camera display, and steering-wheel-mounted controls. The fuel economy for the Sedona is an estimated 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Forward collision warning is available as part of a tech package the LX trim and above, which will tack some money onto its starting MSRP of $28,900.

2017 Toyota Sienna

The Toyota Sienna has powerful performance and a sleek style that any parent can love. Despite the strong 3.5-liter V6 engine, it still gets decent gas mileage at 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Along with collision warnings, you’ll also get safety systems like eight standard airbags, lower anchors and tethers for children, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Toyota put the same thought into the technology department that they did into safety features. The Sienna also comes with Bluetooth connectivity, a 7-inch touch-screen display, SiriusXM radio, and integrated navigation, so you never have to drain your phone battery. The Sienna has a starting MSRP of $29,750.

2017 Honda Odyssey EX-L

The Odyssey has great gas mileage for a minivan at 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. You can get a base model Odyssey LX for as little as $29,850, but for added safety features like Forward Collision Warning, you'll want to look at the EX-L. The good news is that the EX-L also comes equipped with a ton of other safety measures like a rearview camera with parking guidelines, lane departure warnings, and electronic brake distribution to help prevent wheel lockup. There are plenty of features to help with long road trips or busy drives around town like Bluetooth connectivity, USB connections, an 8-inch touch-screen display, and HondaLink to find nearby restaurants, listen to Internet radio, and enjoy audio books. If the Honda Odyssey EX-L sounds like the minivan for you, you can get it for an MSRP of $36,500.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L Plus

The Chrysler Pacifica comes loaded with plenty of features that a parent would want in a minivan like hands-free power sliding doors and liftgate, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and Stow ‘n Go seating for extra storage. In addition to the collision warning system, it also comes with adaptive cruise control and rear cross path detection. The fuel economy for this minivan is a high 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Plus, the Pacifica has quality technology include like active noise cancellation, an 8.4-inch touch-screen display, and available built-in games. The Forward Collision Warning is an optional add-on beginning with the Touring L Plus, which means that it'll add some money to the MSRP of $37,895.
