5 Car Manufacturers with the Best Warranties

If you’re in the market for a new car, you might want to take a look at the warranties for each new car. Every manufacturer handles car warranties differently, so you should make sure to get the best deal for your money. Here is a look at five of the best warranties that come with new cars.

Hyundai

With the cheaper price of these vehicles, you may think that the warranty can’t be that great. Wrong. Hyundai has excellent warranties. Namely, its powertrain warranty is one of the best as it covers up to 10 years or 100,000 miles. This warranty will cover your engine, transmission, and transaxle parts as long as it was originally installed by Hyundai and has become defective under normal use.

The only downfall is that this warranty is only good for the original owner of the vehicle. If the vehicle is sold or given away, the new owner will only have a five year or 60,000 miles limited warranty that dates back from the original owner’s purchase. This limited warranty will also cover several other things such as the radio and audio systems, paint, battery, and other things for varying amounts of time.

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi has a basic car warranty that is good for five years or 60,000 miles. This covers any owner of the vehicle, whether it’s sold or not. Basic warranties are also known as “bumper-to-bumper” coverage. This type of warranty will cover any defects in the factory-installed parts. Tires may or may not be included in this deal, but most tires are covered by a separate warranty.

This manufacturer also has the option of a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, but this warranty doesn’t transfer if the car is sold. From there, the vehicle will have a limited warranty for five years or 60,000 miles. This limited warranty will cover everything with the exception of battery, tires, air conditioner refrigerant, light bulbs, and some system components used for entertainment or navigation.

Kia

Kia vehicles have some of the best basic car warranties in the business. Their basic warranties will last five years or 60,000 miles, and they also offer a 10 year/100,000 power train warranty with all new vehicles. This dual program will cover your engine, transmission, or transaxle parts as well as any issues with factory installed parts within the car. Kia believes that their cars are built to last, but their warranties should be, too.

Kia also comes with a five year/100,000 mile anti-perforation warranty with roadside assistance, which means all of the body work and body panels will be covered in the case of an incident. The full power train warranty will last with the original owner, but should be car be sold, the next owner will receive a limited warranty for five years or 60,000 miles, which will cover the engine and transmission parts.

Volvo

This manufacturer chooses to combine basic and powertrain warranties to keep things simple for its customers. Each car comes with limited warranties that will last for four years or 50,000 miles. Corrosion protection is another feature of this warranty which will cover any rust that is due to corrosion on any part of the bodywork that is caused by a manufacturer defect. This corrosion protection is good for up to 12 years and lasts for an unlimited amount of miles.

Volvo also features a limited complimentary service plan that will cover the first three factory scheduled maintenance services for free. This includes free software updates, complimentary diagnostics, and alternative transportation should it be needed. New owners will also receive four years of Volvo roadside assistance for free.

Buick

Buick offers a bumper-to-bumper or basic four year/50,000 mile coverage for all of its new vehicles. In addition, the powertrain warranty lasts for six years or 70,000 and does not have any sort of deductible. This means that if there are any transmission or engine issues, the parts will be replaced or repaired with no cost to you. This warranty is fully transferable to all owners from the original purchase date.

There is also corrosion protection on all Buicks, which is offered for six years or 100,000 miles. This includes all body and sheet-metal components. On top of this, there is also roadside assistance offered on Buicks for six years or 70,000 miles. Should there be an issue, you will also receive transportation while your car is receiving repairs.
