Which 2019 Chevrolet Malibu Is Right for You?

The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu is not only an incredible value, but it also has a safety rating of five stars according to U.S. News & World Report. It’s no wonder that it’s one of the most popular sedans on the market. Six trims give plenty of options for creating a specification that's just right for you.

L

The Malibu L trim starts at $22,965 and comes with few frills. Despite this, it’s a quality option because it comes with necessities you need for your vehicle. The best highlights include a six-speaker sound system, rear vision camera, and wireless phone connectivity. Buyers will also find 6-way adjustable driver and passenger seats, keyless open and start, and StabiliTrak electronic stability control system.

The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu L also comes with an OnStar Basic Plan for five years and a limited trial service of the OnStar Guidance Plan. One thing the Chevrolet Malibu excels at is excellent fuel economy. This trim can get up to 29 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

LS

The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu LS comes with a few more features, which increases the MSRP to $24,095. The major exterior highlight is the upgraded 16-inch aluminum wheels. The Malibu LS is also the first trim that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. We’re finding that buyers are increasingly expecting this capability at entry-level price points.

Other smaller additions include a compass and outside temperature display, as well as visor vanity mirrors.

RS

The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu RS is a racing-inspired blacked-out trim. For $25,095, the Chevy Bowtie and badging around the car are converted to black. In addition, the front of the vehicle sports a black sport grille. The rear of the car gains a spoiler and has dual exhaust outlets. To complete the overall cosmetic look, the car rides on top of 18-inch bright machined-aluminum wheels.

LT

The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu LT starts at $27,495 and has a few more features that make it safer and more convenient to drive. The best feature is the inclusion of heated seats. But remember, the standard seat offering on the Malibu LT is cloth, even with the addition of heating.

Other minor standard features include outside heated power-adjustable body-colored mirrors, a body-color antenna, and LED daytime running lamps.

Hybrid

If you’re wanting to squeeze the most out of every drop of gasoline, the Malibu has a Hybrid option that starts at $29,095. It gets an impressive estimated 49 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway. As for features, you can expect an HD upgrade for the background camera and an enhanced 8-inch driver information center.

Premier

Lastly, if you want all the premium features standard, the Premier trim is for you. It starts at $32,695 and is worth every penny. Some of the highlighted features include memory function for driver’s seat and outside mirrors, heated outboard rear seating, heated and ventilated driver and front passenger seats, and a Bose premium nine-speaker sound system.

The Premier trim will also feel luxurious with the addition of leather-appointed seating, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, and a leather shift knob. You can also expect the Premier to come with a stronger 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. It's capable of 250 horsepower while managing a fuel economy of up to 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
