The 2020 Toyota Sienna is a solid minivan and has some unique features, but we still rank it toward the bottom of the segment. Even though it's not the cream of the crop, it's still a good choice for families looking for roomy transport. It has one of the largest cargo capacities of any minivan on the market. We break down the features of each trim, to help you decide if there's a Sienna model for you.
L
The 2020 Toyota Sienna L starts at $31,415 and has plenty of family-friendly features for a base model vehicle. It has a 3.5-liter V6 engine and gets 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. That's fairly decent fuel economy and means more money in your pocket.
The interior has enough room for seven passengers, and an Entune Audio system to keep them entertained. This system is a multimedia bundle which includes a 7-inch touchscreen display, AM/FM radio, CD player, mp3 playback, four speakers, an auxiliary audio jack, 5 USB ports, and more.
Keeping your family safe is important, so Toyota included the Safety Star System used in most of their vehicles. This package equips the Sienna with Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology.
There are still more highlights with the Toyota Sienna L. You get a 60/40 Split & Stow third row that is great for extra cargo. You also get second-row tip-up or long-slide seats, an integrated backup camera, and three-zone automatic climate control for when your family members have different temperature preferences.
LE
The 2020 Toyota Sienna LE has a price of $34,235, and it’s very similar to the Sienna L with the exception of a few crucial features that families may want. One of the best upgrades is the addition of easy-clean fabric that helps keep life’s little messes from staining your interior. It resists spills, so it makes clean-up a snap.
For 2020, Toyota is offering something that many other minivan manufacturers aren't. Starting with the Sienna LE trim, buyers can opt for an all-wheel-drive powertrain. It ups the starting price to $36,775, but it will give you peace of mind during wet or icy conditions. To be clear, this isn't for off-roading. It's for sure-footedness.
The Sienna LE also upgrades the multimedia system to Entune Audio Plus. It is compatible with Amazon Alexa and with Apple CarPlay. Those who prefer Android Auto are out of luck, however. This system has a 7-inch LCD multi-information display has access to more entertainment with SiriusXM Satellite Radio. It also provides HD Radio features so you can hear your favorite songs in the highest quality. Finally, the Sienna LE makes it easy to load the kids, their stuff, or whatever you need to haul with power sliding side doors.
There is also a Sienna LE with Auto Access Seat. This model has the same standard features but includes a power-rotating lift-up seat on the passenger side of the second row. This factory-installed seat rotates 90 degrees and extends out of the vehicle and lowers closer to the ground. It's part of Toyota's push to accommodate consumers with mobility problems, particularly older and disabled passengers. This model with the auto access seat starts at $40,160.
SE
The 2020 Toyota Sienna SE can add a bit more luxury to your life for a starting price of $37,565. The Sienna SE sees some changes inside and out that may make it worth the upgrade, including the addition of a leather-trimmed steering wheel. On the exterior, the projector-beam halogen headlights are accented by a smoked chrome sport trim. Packing this minivan is also much easier with the addition of a power liftgate. When your hands are full, you can open your liftgate with the touch of a button.
Even though these upgrades are great, the best part may be the addition of sport-tuned coil springs only available on this trim. It makes the SE a little more fun to drive. You may find yourself searching for reasons to go to the grocery store. And don't forget the much-loved heated front seats. They make an appearance on this trim.
Toyota also offers a Sienna SE Premium package within this trim starting at $43,660, which adds some notable features including Driver Easy Speak. This uses a microphone to pipe the driver's voice over the rear speakers for easy communication...or scolding.
XLE
The 2020 Toyota Sienna XLE also starts at $37,565. The difference between this trim and the Sienna SE is the availability of optional packages. Some apply only to one trim or the other. These packages can quickly increase the starting price of the XLE, but where it really shines is its inclusion of some features that the Sienna SE doesn't have. The Sienna XLE is where style meets comfort. It has a power tilt/slide moonroof.
Safety is also improved with the addition of a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alerts. This is only an add-on package for the Sienna SE. The projector-beam halogen headlights on this trim are auto on/off. It's not a completely necessary feature, but once you have it, you won't want to go back.
There’s also a Sienna XLE Premium package that starts at $41,255. At this price, the XLE includes the Driver Easy Speak system. Additionally, the Sienna XLE trim has an Auto Access Seat version that includes the factory-installed accessibility seat. It starts at $43,700.
Limited
The 2020 Toyota Sienna Limited has an MSRP of $44,310 and improves safety, comfort, and convenience. The first thing you may notice is the addition of a dual moonroof to let even more fresh air into the cabin. If you’re more of an indoor person, you may enjoy the Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and JBL with Clari-Fi system, which puts ten speakers around the cabin to provide premium sound.
The Sienna Limited has power third-row seats that fold down or up at the press of a button. This trim includes Driver Easy Speak, so back-row passengers will easily hear the driver using a built-in mic. This top trim is also the only one with front and rear parking assist sonar, though the starting price is beginning to get expensive compared to competitors. There is also a bird's-eye 360-degree parking view.
The Sienna Limited Premium package has even more. It starts at $47,830.
